Abstract
In my talk, I will give a quick introduction to tropical geometry with a focus on its applications towards enumerative geometry. The main examples will be Gromov-Witten invariants of toric surfaces and Hurwitz numbers. If time permits, we will also discuss more recent developments regarding enumeration of real curves and polynomial invariants.
