Pablo Suárez Serrato

Tenure track research professor at Instituto de Matemáticas UNAM

in the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, in Mexico City.

My curiosity is driven by problems where geometry, dynamics, and topology interact.

In solving these I use all the techniques I can understand,

so I take the view that mathematics is all interconnected and organically woven together.

I have been working here in UNAM since November 2009.

During this time I have carried out long research stays, on leave, at UPC in Barcelona,

in the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics, in Bonn,

and in the Laboratoire Jean-Leray, in the University of Nantes sponsored by the CNRS.

Prior to that I was a postdoc in both CIMAT, in Guanajuato,

and in the University of Munich,

and a graduate student in DPMMS, in the University of Cambridge.

Preprints

Poisson structures on wrinkled fibrations. with J. Torres Orozco.

Other Publications

Los ganadores del premio Breakthrough: Simon Donaldson,

universo.math, Junio 14 Vol. 1 No. 2 art.10, ISSN 2007-9141.

I have also written some reviews for MathSciNet.

Digital Media

In early 2013 I opened a video channel for our Institute,

and managed it until the end of 2014.

3D Printing

Since 2014 I got a MakerBot Replicator 2X, with a grant form DGAPA-UNAM.

We have printed a gallery of minimal surfaces, maybe it will also be online someday.

The two images above are part of it.
